The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has appreciated the Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation, YOSPIS and all stakeholders for their continued support and contributions towards partnership and peacebuilding in the State.
He made the commendation as the Command commenced the inaugural celebration of National Police Day 2025 with a stakeholders meeting.
The meeting sets the tone for the series of events designed to foster community engagement, partnership, trust building, and the vital role of Police in promoting peace and security in our society.
While commending AMG Foundation and YOSPIS for their contributions, CP Bakori, urged people to join the Command in the celebration of strength and partnership, “as we walk towards a healthier and more united society. Mark your calendar and be a part of this meaningful events.”
The momentous occasion which was pronounced by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be celebrated annually on 7th April, with this year’s events scheduled to take place from April 2nd to 7th 2025.
“As part of this year’s activities and in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Kano State Police Command have planned series of engaging events aimed at building trust, fostering collaboration between the Police and community members. The celebration will continue with the following events:
“Sanitation and Clean-up of Public Places: In line with our commitment to promoting a cleaner and safer environment, the Kano State Police will participate in cleaning initiatives on April 3rd, 2025. We encourage community members to join us in this effort to enhance the beauty and hygiene of our surroundings.
“School Outreach: As part of our efforts to engage with the younger generation, we will conduct school outreach programs on April 4th, 2025. These sessions will focus on the importance of safety, the role of the students, and fostering positive relationships with the Police and educational institutions.
There is also free Medical Service Outreach on April 5th, 2025, “we will host a medical outreach program, providing free health services to communities. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the people we serve.
“Walkathon for Strength and Partnership Building: The week of celebration will culminate in a walkathon on 5th April 2025, which symbolizes unity and partnership between the Police and the community.
“Participants will come together to promote health, fitness, and community spirit. The walkathon will feature various activities, including warm-up sessions, football matches, and children’s activities to ensure participation from all age groups.
“The event will also feature Public Enlightenment Programs on April 6th, 2025, the Command will conduct massive security public enlightenment and sensitization programs through the Radio, Television and the New Media.
“The sensitization will enlighten the Public to appreciate the issue of security as a collective responsibility that require the support and cooperation of all.”
