Kano CP commends AMG Foundation, YOSPIS effort of tackling insecurity

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, has commended Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation) and Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Disease and Social Vices (YOSPIS) for supporting his administration in tackling insecurities in the state.

CP Gumel made the commendation during his speech at an interactive session with media to celebrate his one year milestone achievements as the Kano Police Command Commissioner of Police.

AMG Foundation and YOSPIS are key partners of the Kano Police Command in ensuring peace and safety of lives and properties by supporting community policing through interventions that strengthen relationship between the command and the committee.

The interventions include; organising of friendly football matches between repentant thugs, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kannywood, Social Media Influencers and the Police.

“This approach under my administration has bridge the gap between police and the community leading to better information sharing and cooperation in fighting crime,” Gumel said.

Also, the AMG Foundation and YOSPIS in collaboration with the Kano Police Command organised a hangout with the 623 Kano repentant thugs with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in attendance.

The aim of the hangout was to bring the repentant thugs closer to the community and support them make a better living.

Health Reporters learnt that a series of discussions and engagements were ongoing by the AMG Foundation, YOSPIS and the Kano Police Command for a holistic intervention for sustainable peace in Kano State.
